This is a desert plant that can survive being without moisture for many years. They curl up into a dry ball that appears dead, but the plant is just dormant and waiting for moisture.
To revive a resurrection plant, you place it in a saucer of room temperature distilled water and give it time. In about 24 hours, the plant will unfurl and become green. You can continue its non dormant state by simply keeping the saucer filled with water. If you would like to see it return to the dormant state, place it in a dry saucer and the plant will dry and curl into a ball. To store the plant, simply keep it in a dry, dark location. A drawer works well.
